Emily
Professional Photographic Artist
Emily has been a professional photographer for the past 10 years
and has a background in fine art photography. Growing up in a
restoration neighborhood with working artists provoked her creative
drive in Lafayette Square in Downtown St. Louis. She has always been
interested in art and design, but it wasn't until college that she
started with photography classes. Emily graduated from the University
of Missouri with a BFA in photography in 1999. She learned printing
her own images and still does with some of her work to this day.
Emily began photographing weddings for friends while in
college. Her photojournalism is intense and dramatically creative. Her
love for humanity captures images with soul. She looks for that
intensity between people and captures details of the moment in
striking poses and artistic composition.
Emily has traveled and photographed all over the worked including
countries such as Spain, Morocco, Paraguay, Brazil, and most recently,
Haiti. She met her fiance before his departure to Haiti to do work for
the Peace Corps.
Emily owns her own business and is currently working at an
advertising agency as their art buyer, sourcing photography and
illustration for advertising promotions. She has had her work shown at
many art showings in St. Louis. In 2001 and 2002 Emily displayed her
photographs at Cafe Solas. Prints included art prints from Paraguay,
Brazil and Morocco. In 2003, she displayed her photographic art at
St. Charles Community College. In 2004, she displayed her work at
Studio 7.
Emily is engaged, planning a spring wedding the in Dominican
Republic and lives in St. Louis City.
Lace welcomes Emily and we are proud to have such an incredible
talent. Her photojournalism is documentary with a depth for
humanity. Her eye for composition and attention to detail is striking
in every pose. She reaches out in her images to truly captivate the
viewer. Her art is truly outstanding.
